2003 Rugby World Cup

 

The 2003 Rugby World Cup was the fifth world cup. England won the torunament for the first time . Originally planned to be staged by Australia and New Zealand, all matches were moved to Australia following a problems over stadium signage rights between the New Zealand Rugby Football Union and Rugby World Cup Limited. The favorites were the English and New Zealand, with France, defending winners Australia and South Africa all expected to make good showings.

England went on to win the final, defeating Australia to win their first ever Rugby world cup.
