Euro 68 – great players

Dragan Dzajic – Yugoslavia

Dzajic scored twice for Yugoslavia in the 1968 European championships, he was unlucky not to win the European Championships with Yugoslavia as they were beaten to Italy in the final 2-0, and however he was the tournaments top scorer scoring twice. He acquired 85 caps in his time playing for his national team and scored an impressive 23 goals. He played club football at Red Star Belgrade.

 

Luigi Riva – Italy

Luigi Riva’s greatest achievement was certainly the success of winning Euro 68 with Italy; he also scored in the final against Yugoslavia. He made his international debut for Italy in June 1965. He scored a phenomenal 35 goals in only 42 matches for his country and is arguably Italy’s greatest striker of all time. He was Italy’s top scorer in the 1970 World cup. He spent 13 years of his playing career with Italian outfit Calgari.
